A Dance Camp, a Music Camp, an Arts Camp -
all in one!

Pia Bouman School for Ballet and Creative Movement is well known for its wonderful programs during the year. The School is located in Parkdale, just one block West of Dufferin and North of trendy Queen Street, on Noble Street.

In the warm and lovely days of July, our three week long camp, Summer Leaps and Summer Turns offers a fantastic opportunity for children who love art and dance and music. Running from July 9-27, 2012, this exciting program gives a diverse and interesting experience for boys and girls who are creative, inventive, curious and expressive!

A typical day will begin with a ballet class, followed by art, music, hip hop, creative movement or national dance and outdoor activities. At the end of each week, there is a performance of dance and music in our Scotiabank Studio Theatre. Our beautiful lobby turns into a gallery and displays the art made in the course of each week.

From Dance to Performance
The Art of Being Creative!

Ballet: from the basics to the not-so basics, the young students learn to coordinate mind and body, musical phrase and dance steps.

National Dance: Dances from other countries bring in the social aspect of dancing with a partner and in a group.

Creative Movement: Students develop their own vocabulary and expression.

Art: From worktable to gallery wall, experience the art of colour and shape through mask-making, sculpting with wire or found objects or clay...

Music: From just a sound to a soundscape: bring your own violin, flute or recorder, or use our drums and sound makers, and create together a musical piece.

Looking and playing: What is outside? Small excursions will lead us to the pool, or to the lake or to the park.
