Week 1: Monday August 22 to Friday August 26
Week 2: Monday August 29 to Friday September 2

An Inspiring Dance Intensive
Exciting dance opportunities are explored in these two weeks. You learn how to work with strength and control and to develop your ability to execute steps and combinations at an increasing level of difficulty. Simple jumps develop into batterie. Temps Levés become Grand Jetes and single turns develop into doubles and triples. Between understanding that adage is a form of poetry and allegro can be a conversation, you learn that dance communicates. You discover the importance of floor technique, development of momentum and basic partnering work. Stamina and endurance is developed. You discover a variety of exciting techniques from the world of Hip Hop and Street dance. In the Art classes, there will be sculpting and life drawing... and a choice of different exciting dance workshops. The two weeks will finish with a performance in the intimate Scotiabank Studio and the spacious lobby will exhibit the Art work.

Summer Leaps Summer Turns...

The Dance

Contemporary Technique classes empower the dancer through partnering techniques, and individual strength.

Improvisation classes show how to capture the inner voice that personalizes movement vocabulary.
