Bethany Litner holds a BFA with honors from Ryerson University’s Performance Dance Program. There, she had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as James Kudelka, Kate Hilliard, Alysa Pires and Vicki St. Denys.

Outside of Ryerson, she has had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Julia Aplin, Peggy Baker, Kate Franklin, Hanna Kiel, Jane Alison McKinney, and Rufino Rodriguez.

Bethany has performed in numerous festivals in Toronto and Montreal including Dance Made in Canada, Dance Ontario Weekend, New Blue Festival and Transformation Danse. She has also participated in residencies including re:research facilitated by adelheid dance projects. There, she had the pleasure of working with emerging choreographer Jamie Robinson (BC) on material that was later presented at the Citadel.

Most recently, Bethany has been participating in festivals and workshops within Europe working with artists in London, Berlin and Vienna.

In addition to her work as a performance artist, Bethany has been choreographing and teaching ballet and contemporary at Pia Bouman School since 2010 and joined YMI Dancing as Rehearsal Co-ordinator and Resident Choreographer in 2014. Her contemporary classes are a combination of traditional modern technique blended with contemporary styles she has learned from artists in Canada and abroad. Her classes are fun and engaging, while challenging both the physical body and brain.
